Shad York and OPN develop partnership to allow exceptional high school students to PitchIt

Open People Network (OPN) and Shad York announce a new partnership that will bring together high-school student change makers, established entrepreneurs, and angel investors, creating an atmosphere of community of sharing and collaboration.  During a closed event, the students will learn with hand-on experience at the OPN workshop, take the learnings and PitchIt to Angel Investors with feedback. 

Shad York said “We are excited to that OPN will bring the experience and connections that has made PitchIt such a success, across the Greater Toronto Area, York Region and Durham Region, to the participants at Shad York 2019.  The students will benefit greatly from the pitch workshop, and from hearing feedback about their presentations from experienced angel investors.“

Shad (https://www.shad.ca/) is an award-winning enrichment and entrepreneurship program and network that empowers exceptional high school students – at a pivotal point in their education – to recognize their own capabilities and envision their extraordinary potential as tomorrow’s leaders and change makers.

At Shad York, 56 high-school students from across Canada will come together to York University’s campus to learn in a program that includes a design engineering project (where the students will come up with an innovation solution to a meaningful problem), lectures and workshops on a variety of topics, and engaging extracurricular activities such as camping and theatre.
